On this Amit Singhal from Google said: “Well, we named it internally after an engineer, and his name is Panda. So internally we called a big Panda. He was one of the key guys. He basically came up with the breakthrough a few months back that made it possible.”
The update was designed and implemented to improve the quality and importance of content online. The websites that are going to be affected must contain low quality/thin content, they are the one who will get penalized and face decline in their search engine rankings.
The update since its inception brought many changes, which demands correct content development and implementation with SEO techniques.
